In Liberia, 10 years after the civil war there is still most of the needed ICT infrastructure missing. Broadband access is less than 1%, electric grid is missing and no university degrees in ICT are awarded. Schools hardly have books or chairs, let alone computers. Hopeless? We should hope not. With the new ACE (African Coast to Europe) cable landing and with new types of technology and innovation centers like iLab, there is optimism in the air. But how can we turn the optimism into something tangible?
