It’s been a week since we celebrated the end of re:publica with you all. Looking back, we can safely say: It was wonderful! By now our team has recovered from the exertions of the past weeks so we’d like to say another big thank you to all, who made this year’s re:publica happen.
IN/SIDE/OUT – Here we go! We’re looking forward to three days packed with exciting sessions, wonderful speakers and guests, and, of course, sharing them with all of you! At almost exactly 10:30 this morning Andreas Gebhard, Johny Haeusler, Tanja Haeusler, and Markus Beckedahl opened the seventh re:publica for business.
Those who have been to festivals and conferences like, c/o Pop, C’n’B, Advance Conference, Advance Hackathon, Advance Pitchingday and European Pirate Summit, know how diverse and exciting Cologne's creative scene is.
So you want to access the rp13 programme conveniently on your smartphone, huh? Well, that should work – oh look, it has! There are now several apps, with which you can call-up the whole #rp13 agenda onto your mobile. Now it it’s just up to you to decide on which one.
We all know the internet as a global village. We communicate with people across all borders and take daily expeditions right across the globe. What would be more appropriate than to make the internationality of the web visible at re:publica? In co-operation with Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, we once again invite you to special reception for embassy members from across the world.
With only one week to go, the countdown to re:publica is ticking down fast while pulses and excitement are on the rise! To top it all off, today we’d like to whet your literal appetites with great foods and drinks!
So you tomorrow you want to be able to read about talks, speakers, and sessions which took place the day before? Or maybe you can’t personally take part but would still like to experience the full re:publica package? No problem. This year, we have kicked-off a special eBook project : our re:publica Reader.
“Active citizen” is a buzzword found in political education. Active means that “the citizen” has knowledge of or is informed on politics. Their knowledge-base includes systemic politics, international politics, society, AS WELL AS the economy. It is precisely here that we would like to help out.
Once again, we have made sure that the STATION-Berlin is accessible and widely barrier-free so that our mobility-impaired guests can move freely among the halls and stages. We would also like to thank our partner Aktion Mensch, which has kindly provided us with a scribe service for stage 1 and a sign language interpreter. An exciting keynote speech and a panel on accessibility and barrier-free living are also part of the event programme.
Ever wonder what it’s like to be a start-up in Africa, Asia or Latin America? How are the challenges different from those in Europe, and what commonalities do we share? To answer those questions, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and AfriLabs will host The Global Innovation Lounge — a hub inside re:publica.
