The conference
Why should I attend re:publica?
Trust us, you'll love it here! re:publica is the only European conference where the full spectrum of the digital society comes to meet up. Only at re:publica will you find bloggers, social media fans and activists, as well as managers, academics, designers, business people, and other great and inspiring creative minds.
So what’s happening during the re:publica?
Well, mainly it's just talking.
And that's a good thing!
On eight re:publica stages, internationally renown speakers present a broad thematic spectrum, from politics and science to culture and society. Some will astonish, surprise or even motivate you to pass on that latest viral kitten video, others will offer you new perspectives, make you reassess your held ideas or have you in stitches with laughter.
At re:publica, the unexpected is tradition.
Our website will be informing you as to what and who will be presenting on stage this year. The final event programme is usually finalised shortly before the start of the conference because we like to keep things crisp.
Along with the programme, re:publica offers a space to exchange big ideas and small business cards and definitely serves as a place to network people, whose meeting would seem unlikely outside of the informal, yet inspirational environment that is re:publica. Diversity of both topics and guests has been the hallmark of re:publica over the past years and has made it what it is today: a sensational event.
When will the re:publica take place?
The conference will take place from May 6th to 8th 2013 and lasts full 3 days.

What if I wanted to present my own talk at the re:publica?

The tickets
Yay, I want to come! Where do I get my ticket for the conference?
You can order yours at our ticket page.
I bought a blogger ticket for a special price, so how do I prove that I am actually one of those bloggers?
In case you purchased one of the blogger tickets all we ask you to do is to promote the re:publica on your blog. You can find our fancy banners on our website soon.
Are there any discounts on group tickets?
Yes, when buying for 10 persons or more there is the option of discounted group tickets at 100 EUR / ticket (offer not available on Early-Bird tickets). Please contactticket at re-publica.de and state the number of persons in your e-mail. The discount option is available until 15.04.2013.
Do I need to print out my online purchased ticket?
No, thanks to the new 2D scanners paper tickets are no longer necessary. You can use your smart phone to call up your ticket and present it at the doors. Printed tickets will of course also be accepted but, for mother nature's sake, we prefer the digital version.
Okay, now that I got my ticket what does this give me access to?
When you arrive and show your ticket at the entrance of the STATION-Berlin you will get a wristband and a pass with your name on it. This gives you access to every single event at the re:publica 2013 during all 3 days of the event. For smaller events such as talks and workshops we recommend showing up early to ensure a seat. Due to safety reasons we are not allowed to surpass a certain number of attendees in these rooms which means that there will be no entrance if we have reached that number.
How can I get a receipt for my re:publica ticket?
To receive a receipt, please send an email to customerservice@paylogic.de and include the billing address and order number of your ticket. You will receive a receipt within the next 2-3 days
I want to return my ticket, what should I do now?

Darn! I can’t make it and now I would like to transfer my ticket to someone else. What do I have to do?
No problem. If you want to sell your ticket or even give it away to another person you just have to send us a short e-mail to ticket at re-publica.de that contains the name of the original attendee and their e-mail address as well as the name of the new attendee plus their e-mail address, the reference number of the ticket and the number of tickets purchased. Then we will take care of the rest.
Please note that this has only been possible until April 12th 2013 and that we don’t transfer any money. So in case your ticket is not supposed to be a gift please sort this out with the person that you are giving the ticket to.
If you are giving your ticket away after April 12th 2013, we cannot help with the name change anymore. Hence you will of course be allowed to sell it to someone else but the ticket as well as the badge will still be on your name instead of theirs. For the accreditation they will get blank badges from us though and can write their names on them by hand.
The event location
Which would be the best way to get to you by public transport?
The STATION-Berlin is centrally located in Berlin-Kreuzberg at the subway station (U-Bahn) Gleisdreick with the subways U1 and U2. To find out how to get there from your accommodation, please visit the website of the local public transportation.
From S+U-Bahnhof Hauptbahnhof take the city train S-Bahn to S+U Bahnhof Zoologischer Garten and change to the underground line U2 (northbound towards Pankow) to U-Bahnhof Gleisdreieck. From Alexanderplatz, take the U2 (southbound towards Ruhleben) to U-Bahnhof Gleisdreieck. S-Bahnhof Anhalter Bahnhof is also within walking distance (approx. 8 mins) from STATION. Buses such as the M41 stop there as well.
What are the opening hours at the re:publica 2012?
The location will be opened Monday from 8:30 am until 22:00 pm, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00 am until 22:00 pm.
In case I drive my car to the venue where do I park it?
Right next to the STATION-Berlin there is a parking deck which requires a fee. Apart from that, parking spaces are pretty rare in Berlin-Kreuzberg and therefore we generally recommend using the public transport anyway.
Is the venue handicap-accessible?
Yes, it is. In order to make your stay as unproblematic as possible please send a short e-mail to after you have bought your ticket, to let us know that you are attending the conference.

Are there volunteer opportunities to help at the re:publica?
Yes, we always welcome volunteers to help out! Please contact us via helfer(at)re-publica.de if you like to support us.
Will you provide WiFi at the venues?
Believe it or not: Yes, of course!
Please charge all your devices before hand for there is only limited number of sockets.
I have to stay at home but is there any chance that I can follow re:publica via live stream?
Yes, there is! You will find the live stream on our website just in time before the conference. Additionally we will record all the other events. So eventually after re:publica is over you will be able to watch all recorded sessions online in our archive.
Can my attendance at re:publica be counted as university/higher education credits?
Yes, re:publica also designed to be an educational event but we'll receive official confirmation of this when the event programme is finalised. We'll have more information
What’s the weather like in Berlin in early May?
So far re:publica attendees have often been lucky and experienced the first nice days of spring. However, keep an eye on the weather report since we can’t take care of everything.
